All About Me
Designer. Plate-spinner. Caffeinated Powerhouse.
Hello, I’m Mykl Roventine. I’ve been designing web experiences for almost a decade (and all kinds of other things since I was old enough to hold a crayon). I’ve worked with a multitude of clients of all sizes on everything from concept to launch and beyond. I’m proficient in engaging social media strategies, functional web design and effective online communication (via blogs, podcasts, email and more). I have a special passion for the social aspects of the web, online communities and the potential of the internet to educate and inspire.
Honing my skills as a freelance graphic designer throughout the 1990s, I slowly transitioned to the online world at the turn of the century. Since then, I’ve have worked as a freelancer and with various Twin Cites web agencies.
I’m the co-organizer of Social Media Breakfast – Minneapolis/St. Paul, co-founder/organizer of Ignite Minneapolis and UnSummit, as well as run the local chapter of TechKaraoke Minneapolis. I continue to do occasional freelance projects, spend way too much time on social networks and blog at myklroventine.com.
I speak occasionally on various social media and communication topics. Groups/conferences I’ve presented to include the MIMA Summit, KaneCamp, MinneWebCon, UnSummit, Social Media Breakfast – Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Social Media 101: A Beginner’s Bootcamp.
My interests include strong coffee, amateur photography, typography, all sorts of music (especially cover songs) and jackalopes. I live in West Saint Paul, Minnesota with my wife, Jodi and two amazing daughters, Matilda and Lucy.
