Game: Can You Tell Your Helvetica from Univers?
This memory game, The Quick Brown Fox Jumps over the Lazy Dog, challenges you to do just that. In addition to featuring the letter ‘A’ in different typefaces each card comes with a glossary of typography terms. Game on!
In the News: Typography Legend Matthew Carter Wins $500K Genius Grant
The creator of famous typefaces such as Verdana and Georgia is now a MacArthur fellow. “Matthew Carter is a master type designer who crafts letterforms of unequaled elegance and precision for a seemingly limitless range of applications and media,” the MacArthur Foundation’s Web site says. “Throughout his career, which spans the migration of text from the printed page to the computer screen, he has pursued typographic solutions for the rapidly changing landscape of text-based communications.” (Thanks Meshl)
